Nintendo Switch review

The Nintendo Switch is a homerun for Nintendo, and delivers on its innovative premise.

Hybrid home/portable console ; Sharp display ; Unique multi-scheme controller ; Intuitive design ; Great Nintendo games

Poor battery life/storage ; Some controller options don’t feel good during long gameplay sessions ; Third-party developer support is thin

The Switch manages to blend Nintendo’s penchant for weird, gimmicky hardware with the high quality design we’ve come to expect of consoles in the modern era. From a hardware perspective, it is the best console from the company in generations — possibly...

‘Arms’ – Nintendo Switch Review

‘Arms' brings back the fun of the Nintendo Wii, but it's most fun if you don't take it too seriously.

Nintendo Switch

Nintendo does things differently. First came the Wii's motion controllers, then the Wii U's tablet-style GamePad. Now we have the Nintendo Switch, a portable and home console in one that works as well on trains, planes and wherever you want to play as...

Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch works as both a home game console and a handheld, offering access to a remarkably strong library of excellent games on your TV at home or in your hands on the go.

Attractive, innovative design. Excellent game library. Solid build quality. Joy-Cons feel comfortable to use in multiple configurations.

Attractive, innovative design. Excellent game library. Solid build quality. Joy-Cons feel comfortable to use in multiple configurations. ; Can't copy or transfer save files. Short battery life. Online service needs work. Flimsy kickstand.

Bottom Line: The Nintendo Switch works as both a home game console and a handheld, offering access to a remarkably strong library of excellent games on your TV at home or in your hands on the go.

Nintendo Switch review: Pure fun on a big-screen TV or on the go

It's been an impressive first year for the Switch as the clever hybrid console's ample game library lives up to its promise of being a home-and-away gaming machine.

The Nintendo Switch is a versatile hybrid game console that easily pivots between a big-screen TV and on-the-go portable. The initially slim game library now includes a good mixture of must-have Nintendo franchise exclusives, indie titles and even some...

No Virtual Console (yet) means no access to decades worth of classic Nintendo games. The screen feels small during tabletop sessions. Online multiplayer requires matchmaking on a smartphone app, and Hulu is the only entertainment app.

The unique TV-or-mobile gaming proposition of the Nintendo Switch is now matched by a stellar library of games, including instant-classics like new Zelda and Mario titles.

Nintendo Switch review

If you're a hard-core Nintendo fan or a lover of Zelda games, you probably preordered the Switch -- which retails for $300, £280 or AU$470 -- the moment it was announced. And having played the spectacular Breath of the Wild since day 1, on your TV or...

The Nintendo Switch is a versatile hybrid game console that easily pivots between a big-screen TV and on-the-go portable. Its modular Joy-Con controllers are inventive. The entire hardware feels substantial and refined. Breath of the Wild is one of the...

Besides Zelda, there are only a handful of games and no Virtual Console. The screen feels small during tabletop sessions. Joy-Con layout is cramped and crowded, and the left one can have connection issues when wireless.

The Nintendo Switch is a solid piece of hardware that delivers an impressive gameplay experience in a small chassis. But a shallow roster of launch games beyond Zelda along with no concrete plan for legacy retro games leaves the Switch feeling more...

Nintendo Switch review: the best portable console

Now I can take Zelda with me wherever I go — not some limited version, mind you, but the full console Zelda experience.

The Switch has all the makings of something truly great. Now Nintendo just needs to support it.

Wacom Intuos4 review: Wacom Intuos4

Wacom Intuos4

Beautiful, slim and well-thought-out new design; extremely fluid pen operation.

Schmutz very visible on black pen grip; buttons could use a bit more tactile differentiation; mouse still a bit awkward; still pricey; need more real-time feedback when configuring; glossy plastic panel shows fingerprints.

With a beautiful and more functional new design, Wacom's Intuos4 tablet demonstrates that a lack of competition doesn't necessarily keep you from innovating.

Nintendo Switch review

Updated 19/07/18: After bringing in an incredible line-up of games, Nintendo's portable has become a gaming great

Brilliant as both a home console and a portable ; Joy-Cons are genius ; Solid line-up of games

Hidden costs of ownership add up ; Online service still up in the air

Nintendo’s 2-in-1 console is the real deal, with a huge list of fantastic games
