Moto G6: Full, in-depth review

If you're someone who doesn't care about more-intensive applications like mobile gaming and photography, it's difficult to think of an easier standout budget device that the Moto G6.

Great price-point ; Superb build quality

Not great for games ; AI camera features a bit finicky

The Moto G6 shouldn't be this good and still cost $249

Dual-rear cameras, a Gorilla Glass 3 body and a 1080p HD screen with an 18:9 ratio. Not too shabby for $250.

The Motorola Moto G6 has a near-stock version of Android Oreo, good dual-rear cameras, fast charging and a sleek design. And it's amazingly affordable.

The battery life is not as long as last year's Moto G5 or G5 Plus.

The Moto G6 is a sublime value, despite its minimal drawbacks.

Samsung's cheapest Galaxy phone is miles behind the Moto G6

Samsung may rule when it comes to high-end Androids, but its midrange Galaxy J3 offering is disappointing.

The Samsung Galaxy J3 for 2018 is cheap and has a removable battery.

The phone has the same key hardware as last year, and has a mediocre camera and processing speeds.

The Galaxy J3 is underwhelming even for a budget phone. Save money and get a better phone by way of the Moto G6 Play.

A great phone

I previously reviewed a Sony Experia XA which was rubbish. Sony finally refunded me my money and I purched a Moto G6 from Motorola. This phone was the same price as the Sony which was my primary driver in selecting this phone. I paid $499 NZD from...
