Honor 7X review: Bezel-less on a budget | Trusted Reviews

Honor 7X review: A bezel-less screen on a budget, but is it actually any good?

All-screen design for a low price ; Fine 6-inch 18:9 screen ; Camera reasonably capable

Second camera features somewhat gimmicky ; So-so battery life ; EMUI still heavy-handed

Honor 7X review

The Honor 7X looks better than phones costing twice as much, and performs just as well too.

Amazing price ; Beautiful style ; Comfortable to hold ; Good camera ; Big, 18:9 aspect ratio screen

No NFC for Android Pay ; MicroUSB feels a little 2016 ; No Android 8.0 at launch

Taken only at face value, the good-looking Honor 7X doesn’t appear to be a $200 smartphone. Add in a decent, fun-feature packed camera, solid performance, and a great screen, and you’ll question the price even more. Yet it does only cost a bargain $200.

Honor 7X review: The most phone you can get for under $200

The Honor 7X may be priced like a budget phone, but with an 18:9 screen, slim-bezel design, and all-metal enclosure, you might mistake it for a premium one.

Brilliant 18:9 display rivals phones priced four times as much. ; Camera app is packed with features and options. ; Kirin processor keeps apps and games humming.

MicroUSB port is a pain to use. ; Camera quality hasn't improved much over the 6X.

If you're on a strict budget and don't mind microUSB, the Honor 7X should definitely be on your shortlist of handsets. Keep in mind that it's an international unlocked phone, so Verizon and Sprint customers are out of luck (and anytime soon). But if it...

Huawei Honor 7X

The Huawei Honor 7X is an excellent unlocked phone that boasts flagship-level features at an affordable $200 price.

Affordable. Sleek build. Crisp edge-to-edge screen. Solid overall performance. Capable dual cameras.

Average battery. No dual-band Wi-Fi or USB-C. Heavy UI layer.

At $200, the Honor 7X is priced similarly to the Moto G5 Plus. It has a sleek build that incorporates a tall, 18:9 aspect ratio to maximize screen real estate, along with solid overall performance, and decent camera capabilities. The G5 Plus,...

Want a big-screen on a budget? Try this phone

The Honor 7X comes with a massive screen and charges little for it.

Honor 7X review

Big-screen thrills, no price spills

18:9 aspect screen at a great price ; All-metal build looks the part ; Camera isn't bad when you feed it enough light

No NFC means no contactless payments ; MicroUSB charging is really old hat now ; No Android Oreo at launch

This screen-filling smartphone doesn't cost a fortune, and although it's got a few niggling issues, it's hard to complain too much given the price.

Xiaomi Redmi 5 review

The best low-cost smartphone?

Vibrant 18:9 display ; Handy design ; Value for money

Dated Android version ; 720p display resolution

The Redmi 5 is undoubtedly a complete smartphone and has all the necessary inclusions like a bigger display and the latest chipset. But, it isn't as striking or as fresh as the Honor 9 Lite that comes for Rs 10,999.

Honor 7x Review: This $200 phone surprised me

Over the past couple of weeks I've had the $200 smartphone Honor 7x in my pocket. This smartphone's surprised me - and not only because it's rather feature-full for its price. This phone's surprised me because it's doing what OnePlus said it'd do when...

$200 price tag is surprisingly low ; Industrial design is on-point (and pretty familiar) ; Camera is pretty good in decent lighting ; Battery lasts well beyond a full day

Software is swift, but needs some customization ; No USB-C (still on micro-USB) ; One year later, STILL no NFC

Honor 7X Smartphone Review

6-inch 18:9 Android for $199. Honor has taken a page out of the current crop of flagship smartphones to deliver one of the most compelling Android smartphones yet for under $200 USD. Update: GPS and camera tests added

relatively accurate colors and high contrast ; thin design, high screen-to-body ratio ; fast fingerprint reader ; dual-SIM w/ MicroSD ; very inexpensive ; 18:9 FHD display

CPU and GPU performance benefits are minimal over the Honor 6X ; apparent brightness drops if not facing directly at the screen ; slow display response times; more ghosting ; no CDMA version for Sprint or Verizon ; no NFC, IR, 802.11ac, or Wi-Fi...

Android smartphones in the $200 to $250 USD range are quite common from Chinese manufacturers like Leagoo, Xiaomi, Bluboo, Oppo, and Vivo. What makes the Honor 7X so special compared to the deluge of other cheap alternatives is the harder worldwide...

Huawei Honor 7X review: Better display, camera and build quality makes it a great challenger to the Xiaomi Mi A1

With a lower base price tag and better features than the Xiaomi Mi A1, the only area where the Huawei Honor 7X falls short is software.

At Rs 13,999 Xiaomi gets you the same build quality, with more bezels, a similar display (although not as tall) and better battery life thanks to its compact package.
