Ring Floodlight Cam

The Ring Floodlight Cam offers crisp 1080p video, two-way audio, and works with other smart devices that support IFTTT, but you have to pay to view recorded footage and the app can use some work.

Sharp image quality. Clean two-way audio. Loud siren. Works with IFTTT.

Buggy app in testing. Subscription needed to view recorded video. Installation requires basic wiring knowledge.

With the Ring Floodlight Cam you can keep an eye on the outside of your home from anywhere, talk to whomever is out there, and scare them off with a fairly loud siren if necessary. At $249 it's a relatively expensive floodlight, but connected devices...

The floodlight camera you want watching over your yard

Ring's Floodlight Cam smartly combines LEDs and an HD security camera into one weatherproof security device.

The $249 Ring Floodlight Cam's advanced motion detection offers activity zones, scheduling and prompt related alerts.

You have to pay at least $3 per month for cloud storage services and the Floodlight Cam doesn't currently work with any smart home platforms.

Ring's Floodlight Cam is a solid buy that's likely to improve over time as it adds smart home partners.

Ring Spotlight Cam vs. Ring Floodlight Cam: What's the difference?

Ring sells five outdoor security cameras. Here's how to choose the best one for you.

The Spotlight Cam Mount is essentially the same device as the Spotlight Cam Wired, so we didn’t review it independently. The difference is that it mounts to an electrical junction box on your outdoor wall, just like the Ring Floodlight Cam. It is less...

Ring Floodlight Cam review: An excellent choice—if you’re living in Ring’s ecosystem

If you're already using one of Ring's doorbell cameras or spotlight cams, this porchlight replacement will be a great addition.

This product fits in well with the impressive ecosystem Ring is building out ; Excellent video quality ; Multiple user-defined motion zones

Without a subscription, you can only monitor the camera in real time ; Operates only on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks ; You can’t control the floodlight with voice commands

The answer to that question is an easy “yes,” you’ve already invested in other Ring products. You don’t want to deal with different apps with different user interfaces—and different subscription plans—to keep an eye on different areas of your property....

Ring Floodlight Cam Review: The Home Security Device to Get

The Ring Floodlight Cam brings Ring's strong security camera bona fides to an outdoor floodlight. Not only was the quality of the video great, but its other features — such as neighborhood alerts in the app — also further enhance the floodlight cam's...
